Internships

We are constantly seeking interested Richmond area interns who would like to learn more about voter education, politics and conservation.

Program Intern — The program department is actively seeking an undergraduate or graduate-level intern to assist with VALCV’s work within the conservation community developing a common legislative agenda in preparation for next year’s General Assembly session. There is opportunity for an extended internship if desired. (more information)

Development Intern — VALCV Development Interns support the entire development department effort, including low-donor and website activities and high donor prospecting and stewardship. Duties include donor and political research, writing and posting new items for VALCV’s distinctive website, working with events staff to help create invitations and organize fundraising events, assisting with the high donor mail program and maintaining the donor databases. VALCV-EF Seeking Summer Interns!

The Virginia League of Conservation Voters Education Fund is currently seeking dynamic individuals to intern with our staff during the summer of 2012. Primary duties include: assisting with summer issue workshops, increasing our number of activists & expanding their level of engagement to build the organization’s power & win critical campaigns. Poll finds strong support for increased public transportation & opposition to uranium mining!

A recent poll conducted on behalf the Virginia Civic Engagement Table found Virginians support developing mass transit versus building new roads and highways and strongly agreed that investment in public transportation creates jobs and boosts economic growth as well as decreasing our reliance on oil and gas.

On uranium mining, 58% of respondents oppose lifting Virginia’s ban due to health and water contamination concerns, versus 20% who believe the potential for job creation outweighs the risk.
