Sarah Ahmed is the Deputy Director of Advocacy and Campaigns at the Virginia League of Conservation Voters Education Fund where she leads statewide advocacy strategy alongside her team. In this role, she oversees field and stakeholder engagement programs and manages civic engagement, voter participation and “Get Out the Vote” efforts.
Sarah has been with Virginia LCV-EF for over eight years, growing from Field Organizer to Deputy Director of Voter Registration before stepping into her current leadership position. Her work is grounded in a deep commitment to civic engagement, equity, and conservation and climate policies that make a real difference in people’s lives.
She began her career in political organizing in 2017 with the Progressive Turnout Project during Virginia’s gubernatorial elections, and later worked in social work and human resources at the Counseling Alliance of Virginia before returning to advocacy at Virginia LCV-EF.
Outside of work, Sarah loves breakfast, performing stand-up, and a strong internet connection. She is also a proud mother of two, her human son and her dog girl.
