Legislative Contact Teams

Legislative Contact Teams (LCTs)

What is a Legislative Contact Team?

A Legislative Contact Team (LCT) is a group of citizen lobbyists in a Virginia Senate or House of Delegates district who advocate for the health of our families and the protection of our air, water and land. The LCT program, a project of the Virginia Conservation Network and the Virginia League of Conservation Voters-Education Fund, organizes volunteers throughout the Commonwealth to meet with their legislators and make conservation a year-round priority. As voters and constituents from your elected official’s own district, your voice rises above the rest. Reinforced as a team, you can hold your representatives accountable for their decisions as no one else can.

Why Should You Join?

Your elected officials in Richmond need to hear from you! No matter where you live or how experienced you are, you can be a part of a local LCT. Our LCTs bring together activists from a variety of conservation groups and backgrounds to advocate for the conservation communities’ common agenda. VCN and VALCV-EF will provide you and your team with all the information and support you need to meet with your legislator about the critically important conservation issues that matter to you.

This program is vital to the success of conservation causes. When constituents speak up, elected officials listen. Let your representatives know that the people who vote on Election Day care about conservation! Join your Legislative Contact Team today to increase the volume of conservation’s voice in Virginia.
